Formula Racing at UC Davis

Each year, FRUCD students design and manufacture a fully electric race car to compete in FSAE Michigan, an international competition for university teams. Our team is entirely student-run, with all design, fabrication, planning, marketing, outreach, and racing done by UC Davis students. Our members and leads leave the team with hands-on experience in industry-level engineering, communicating, and group work and management. On the team, textbook teachings are applied to real-world projects, enabling a level of learning and participation not found in the controlled classroom environment. Many of our alumni go off to make significant impacts in the world with their Formula Racing experiences. With FRUCD as their career launch point, many of our alumni secure jobs in automotive and aerospace industries directly after graduating.
