The Chicanx and Latinx Engineers & Scientists Society (CALESS) is a non-profit organization at the University of California, Davis that promotes and supports the academic, social, and professional success of Latinx and Chicanx students majoring in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
Our three pillars of success that we honor are professionalism, academics, and community. CALESS host events in each of these pillars.
• Professionalism: Attend membership conferences, host resume reviews, mock interviews, and other workshops on professional success skills.
• Academics: Provide study space and study groups for members, workshops on study tips and other workshops on academic success skills.
• Community: Provide academic and moral support for our members through establishing outreach and enrichment programs for the community.
This encompasses tutoring, mentoring and recruitment of middle school and high school students for the benefit of advancing Chicanx/Latinx students to higher education.
