As our nation’s number one school of agriculture and one of the world’s most sustainable universities, UC Davis is home to students and a large community interested in nourishing the world responsibly.

In support of this passion, the Arboretum and Public Garden gratefully accepts gifts to support the Good Life Garden and the educational programs and events that take place there. The Good Life Garden, located at the south entry to campus in the center of the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science, is a glorious stage for community learning about sustainable edible gardening and a starting point for visitors to explore edible landscape projects across campus committed to growing food for the health and well-being of our community and the world.

In the Good Life Garden, student and community volunteers steward the garden year-round, and teams of student interns bring learning activities into the garden. A renovation of the garden in 2018 was funded by campus support and the generous donors who contributed to the Arboretum’s and Public Garden’s GATEway to the Edible Campus Give Day campaign.

In 2019, the Robert Mondavi Institute, the Department of Viticulture and Enology, the Department of Food Science and Technology, and the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden partnered to fund and create a new outdoor community area in the Peter and Merle Mullin Courtyard in the Good Life Garden, a space dedicated to the connection between good food and good health.

Thank you for considering a gift supporting the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden’s Good Life Garden!
