In 2015 University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) and the Agronomy and Research Information Center initiated the California Rice Yield Contest as a pilot study in Butte county. Over the years the contest was expanded to include all of the Sacramento Valley and provides an opportunity for rice producers and UC scientists to share information about intensive rice production in California. The annual contest brings together farmers from three designated regions of the state and recognize individuals who have achieved the highest yields in the state. Through gifts of sponsorship the farmer with the highest yield is awarded a grand prize. This contest and grand prize is made possible through the generous support from industry partners and sponsors. You gift to this annual competition will support continued collaboration and valuable rice production data in California. For more information about the past contest winners, sponsors and rice yield production data you can visit the Agronomy and Research Information Center website: http://rice.ucanr.edu/RiceYieldContest/
