During her career of almost 30 years of service to UC Davis, from 1975 to 2003, Leslie Campbell was a driving force and stalwart champion of educational opportunities for all people, with special attention to those in underserved communities. Leslie is remembered most notably for her lasting and enduring tenure in undergraduate admissions.

The UC Davis Center for African Diaspora Student Success was established in the fall of 2015 to provide a space for African Diaspora students to engage with peers in a collaborative and supportive environment. The Center for African Diaspora Student Success (CADSS) is described by students as a “home away from home,” providing a platform to voice opinions, to be heard and to be an advocate for change. CADSS works tirelessly to provide students with the appropriate resources necessary for holistic (academic, cultural, social and professional) success, but they cannot accomplish this alone.

Private support remains crucial to the success of the center and goes to such activities as tutoring, mentoring, behavioral health and other services designed to ensure every student's academic success.
