There are approximately 1,000 student parents at UC Davis - students who are caring for children while pursuing higher education. They write honors theses, study abroad, engage in groundbreaking research, and bring a distinct and invaluable perspective to the classroom - all while raising children and nurturing families. Student parents inspire hope, confidence, and resilience in their children, motivating them to see themselves as future college students - potential future UC Davis Aggies!

To ensure that student parents thrive at UC Davis, Student Parent Resources aims to streamline support and advocacy efforts. Pregnant and parenting students caring for children in any capacity are part of the Student Parent Resources community, and benefit from an array of services designed to remove barriers for success and build connections and support systems. Current services include discounted spots at the on campus Early Childhood Lab School through CCAMPIS (Child Care Access Means Parents in School), the Student Parent Diaper Closet, Campus Trick or Treating, Priority Registration, Family Dinners, Mentorship and Advising, Wellness Program, Babysitter Directory and Gift Cards, Holiday Gift Program, and Student Parent Graduation Celebration.

While Student Parent Resources, an endeavor led by the Transfer and Reentry Center and the Women’s Resources and Research Center, has been able to provide meaningful programs and leadership for the student parent community, there are many unmet needs. The stress of rising costs of childcare, housing, and groceries puts a strain on student parents. In a recent Student Parent Needs Assessment, 34.3% of those surveyed indicated they either sometimes, often, or very often considered dropping out of school before finishing.

Your gift to Student Parent Resources will support community building programs, family activities, meals, and other services that decrease stress and promote the success of student parents and their families.
