Brain science is complex. The Center for Neuroscience Community Outreach Fund promotes public awareness and understanding of neuroscience research through educational outreach activities, including Brain Awareness Week’s public seminars and interactive experience. Faculty and graduate trainees share their knowledge and experience in neuroscience with a wide range of audiences, including students at all levels – from elementary through adult education. Gifts support community outreach events, materials, equipment and other resources to enhance learning and help disseminate information that increase the community’s understanding of how the brain works and the development of new prevention and treatments for neurological and psychiatric disorders.
