The Ronald and Lydia Baskin Research Award was created in 2006 to recognize one or more graduating seniors performing outstanding original research in the biological sciences within any of the four undergraduate colleges. Students are selected by a faculty committee and the awardees are publicly recognized during Commencement. Ronald Baskin was a professor emeritus of molecular and cellular biology and an authority on the molecular basis of muscle contractions. Professor Baskin passed away in 2010, and we thank him and his wife Lydia for creating this student award endowment.
