Student Transition and Retention (STAR) Program Support Fund

The Student Retention and Transition (STaR) Program in the College of Letters and Science supports students through their transition from high school or community college to UC Davis, with a primary focus on providing the tools, strategies, and community building for first-generation student retention and success. STaR features a year-long seminar series facilitated by advising and student-success professionals, most of whom were first-generation college students themselves. The program also offers cohort advising, regular engagement and belonging activities with peers, and a year-end dinner celebration that provides participants with an introduction to formal dining.
