Will Lotter graduated from UC Berkeley in 1966 then completed a Masters in Education at California State University, Sacramento in 1960 and a Doctorate in Education at UC Berkeley. He was a faculty member and coach at UC Davis from September 1952 until January 1993 and coached the men's varsity soccer program from 1972 to 1987. Will entered the UC Davis Athletics Hall of Fame in 2004. From 1965-67 while on leave from UC Davis, Will served as Deputy Director then Country Director for the Peace Corps in Malawi, Africa and Training Director for Peace Corps Nepal training programs. During 194, Will served as a UN International Election Observer in Malawi, Africa and in 1966 served as a UN Election Observer for the presidential election in Nicaragua. Together, Jane and Will have received the Liberty Bell award for work in civil liberties and human rights from the Yolo County Bar Association, the City of Davis Peace and Justice Award and the Life Time Achievement Award from the Davis Martin Luther King Scholarship Committee. Aggie Alumni Chip Lion and Chris Inglis established the Lotter Endowment to honor both Jane and Will for everything they have done for the UC Davis Men's Soccer program. The annual earnings support the men's soccer team's grant-in-aid program.
