Audrey and Brian Thompson were avid UC Davis softball fans. They traveled from their San Francisco bay area abode to home and away games (in and out of state), to support the Aggies. They were thrilled to be at the NCAA DII championships in 2003 when the Ags brought home the national title!
The Thompson's involvement with UC Davis began in 1980 when they first started attending football and basketball games to see their children, Pam and Tip, play in the California Aggie Marching Band. Both Audrey and Brian found time to support other campus teams as well, but softball became Audrey's favorite.
Becoming one of the team's most loyal fans, Audrey could be seen sitting in the bleachers, rain or shine, cheering the Aggie to victory. She enjoyed meeting the student-athletes who made the games so exciting and their parents as well. She always was impressed with the players' accomplishments on the field and in the classroom and believed wholeheartedly in UC Davis Athletics' goal of having well rounded student-athletes who are also superior academically.
Brian established the endowment after Audrey's death in 2008. With permission from their children, UC Davis Athletics added Brian's name to the fund when he passed away in 2011.
