The Will Lotter Soccer Facility Enhancement Fund has been established to provide needed resources for capital improvements to Aggie Soccer Field, and to commemorate the many contributions of Will Lotter as a UC Davis soccer, football, and tennis coach, teacher, community leader, veteran, and dedicated activist for world peace and assistance for the world’s less fortunate.
Will Lotter's 40-year career at UC Davis began in 1952 after having served in the US Navy as a fighter pilot 1943-45 and played football for Cal's Rose Bowl team ('48) and included roles as: head coach of football and baseball in the '50s and early '60s, tennis ('67-'92) and soccer ('71 - '92). Will was also the first director of EOP (Educational Opportunity Program) and acting dean of students in the late '60s. In addition, Will taught over 15,000 students in P.E. courses over the years, most notably PE 44 "Healthful Living." Many former students and players have expressed their appreciation of Will's dedication to their personal and professional growth.
Recognition of Will’s service to UC Davis Athletics and the Soccer program is scheduled for Fall of 2018 and will be formally announced at a later date.
