The Michael Sowerwine ALS Research Fund provides support for graduate students and ALS researchers who are conducting projects related to therapy and cure research and development.

Michael Sowerwine (Mike) was diagnosed with ALS in December 2017 at age 51 after a year filled with diagnostic tests and quite a bit of hand wringing. He has been blessed to have family, friends and former colleagues who have been hugely supportive as he continues to face this challenge.

As a proud UC Davis graduate, Mike wants to help fund critical research and development into finding treatments for people with ALS and, we all hope, an eventual cure.

The UC Davis Multidisciplinary ALS Clinic was founded in 2009 and is a certified ALS Center of Excellence by the ALS Association. With a focus on care, research, and education, we strive to understand ALS so that we can learn better ways to treat the disease. Your generous contribution will help our team improve the lives of people with ALS and find a cure for this disease.
