The Aoki Center for Critical Race and Nation Studies is an initiative led by faculty and students at the University of California, Davis, School of Law to honor the life and work of Professor Keith Aoki.

The Aoki Center advances scholarship, education, and advocacy at the intersection of race, law, and social justice. Through research, public programming, and student engagement, the Center examines how law shapes — and can reshape — the experiences of communities of color and other marginalized groups in the United States and globally.

Your support powers the Center's ability to convene scholars and practitioners, fund student research and fellowships, and produce work that influences policy and legal discourse far beyond the classroom. In a moment when questions of equity, identity, and belonging are at the center of national conversation, the Aoki Center ensures that King Hall remains a leading voice for rigorous, justice-oriented legal scholarship.

Professor Keith Aoki was an accomplished and respected scholar who used words, art, music, and engagement to create a significant body of work in civil rights, critical race theory, intellectual property, and local government law. Although he contributed to scholarship in many fields, his work connecting critical theory, race, and immigration issues was close to his heart."
