UC Immigrant Legal Services Center

The University of California Immigrant Legal Services Center serves the immigration-related legal needs of undocumented and immigrant students and their immediate family members, as well as family members of U.S. citizen students, and UC employees. Our groundbreaking program provides legal services to every campus in the University of California system.

The mission of the Center is simple, yet transformative. It is more than a direct legal student service. It is a means to improving the educational and emotional well-being of the university’s immigrant and mixed-status student community. Our mission statement reads:

For the past ten years we have worked to improve educational outcomes and to create opportunities for economic advancement by providing life-changing legal services that help immigrant students and their families pursue viable immigration pathways and other protections from deportation. More than ever our services are crucial to ensuring that our students can pursue higher education without fear for themselves or their families
