The purpose of the Marsh Scholarship is to memorialize Harry M. "Hank" Marsh and his strong commitment to UC Davis School of Law. Hank Marsh, a native of Chico, California, graduated from the School of Law in 1973 after receiving his bachelor's degree in Political Science, cum laude, from Chico State University.

While a student at King Hall, Hank served as articles editor of the Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. Upon his graduation, he received the School of Law Medal, the highest academic honor, and after graduation became an honorary member of the Order of Barristers. Hank continued to be involved with the Law School as an adjunct professor, serving as a president of the Law School Alumni Association Board and as the first chair of the Law School's Dean's Advisory Council.

He was active in the Chico community as a member of the Chico State Alumni Association, Durham Rotary, governing board of the Chico State Foundation, Wildcat Century Club and Canyon Oaks Country Club. He also taught at Chico State University.

In addition to his statewide public entity, school law, labor law and construction industry practice, Hank lectured on construction industry matters for the California Continuing Education of the Bar and other similar organizations. He also updated the California Mechanics' Lien Law and Construction Industry Practice, which was authored by his late father Matt Marsh, his first law partner.

The Harry M. "Hank" Marsh Memorial Scholarship will assist an incoming student with the payment of tuition and/or fees during the recipient's first year at UC Davis School of Law. This scholarship was established in November 1996 by Hank's classmates, friends and family.
