The Cruz and Jeannene Reynoso Scholarship for Legal Access was established at UC Davis School of Law to help students with financial needs attend the Law School. The scholarship was created to honor Justice Reynoso and his late wife Jeannene. It sends a strong message to prospective students that, if they are admitted, UC Davis School of Law will help them with their desire to enter the legal profession.
Cruz Reynoso understands the need for access scholarships. He grew up in a family of 11 children in Orange County. As the son of farm workers, he picked fruit and dreamed of attending college. His dream came true when he started at Fullerton College, and then received a scholarship to finish his undergraduate degree at Pomona College. He and Jeannene met in Washington, D.C., where they both worked. They married while he was a law student at the University of California, Berkeley, and Jeannene worked to support them.
UC Davis School of Law is proud to raise funds for the Cruz and Jeannene Reynoso Scholarship, helping to ensure that it remains a truly public law school.
