Lesley joined the UC Davis faculty in 2013. She was a world traveler, spending time in Asia, hiking the northern section of the Appalachian Trail, and serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Costa Rica. Throughout her life she combined her love of the outdoors, cycling and research-related adventures. Lesley possessed, and was admired for her fierce and incisive intellect, unwavering integrity and a formidable work ethic. A widely respected academic devoted to generating knowledge for enhancing the public good, Lesley focused her research on the role of law and regulation — in the U.S. and other countries across the world — in addressing climate change and other environmental problems Recipients of this scholarship will be in their second or third year of Law School with a demonstrated interest and engagement in environmental law and/or policy.
