The UC Davis Law Review hosts an annual symposium, bringing top experts in diverse legal fields to the UC Davis School of Law. Throughout the history of our symposia, UC Davis Law Review has covered salient topics such as contemporary labor struggles, the changing landscape of ESG investing, the modern effects of guns in public, and more. We aim to host influential symposia where experts will enrich and educate our King Hall community, as well as the larger legal community, on a compelling legal issue.
Thank you very much for supporting the UC Davis Law Review Symposium!

Volume 59’s Symposium - Celebrating Dean Kevin R. Johnson Honoring a Legacy of Transformative Scholarship and Leadership - celebrates the work of Dean Emeritus Kevin R. Johnson. Dean Johnson is one of the nation’s most-cited immigration scholars. His scholarship explores how immigration law has subordinated immigrants of color, both historically and presently. His work has critiqued racialized immigration laws and advocated for the rights of non-citizens. Each symposium panel will discuss different ways that Dean Johnson’s legacy shaped the legal profession.
This year’s Symposium will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025.
