2025-2026 Update:
Our mission is to create long-lasting programming and traditions that highlight various Black perspectives, strengthen the community within King Hall, and promote equal opportunity, academic excellence, professional development, social justice. We strive to empower our members through mentorship, symposiums, networking opportunities, and education initiatives that sharpen legal skills, while actively engaging with the broader legal community. Fundraising will support these programs and our community. As of today, our mission has seen much success:
- We are continuing another year of our mentoring program to help incoming Black students navigate their 1L year, and support them in intraschool oral advocacy competitions.
- BLSA hosted a Welcome BBQ to welcome all the law students back to school.
- BLSA collaborates with several other affinity groups to organize symposiums and other events to bring the King Hall community together.
- We gather outreach to more BPLSAs (Black Pre-Law Student Associations) and BLSAs at surrounding universities.
- BLSA sent two teams to compete at the Western Region Black Law Students Association, Constance Baker Motley Mock Trial Competition, with one of our teams advancing to the National Competition in Atlanta, Georgia.
- BLSA is currently planning King Hall's 7th annual MLK Service Day.
BLSA plans to host many more events through 2026, including during our culture week and Black History Month. But to do so, we must continue to fundraise. We ask you to please donate to support the activities of King Hall's BLSA chapter. Help us to continue our mission, not only in 2026 but for BLSA generations to come. Thank you,
