Far too little is known about the causes, consequences, and prevention of violence. VPRP’s long-term commitment to using science to inform policy and reverse the trend of violence remains a priority today. Violence is a major health and social problem that disproportionately affects members of under-represented minorities and marginalized populations. In heavily-impacted communities, the basic rhythms of daily life are contorted as residents seek to minimize their risk of victimization. We use science to inform violence solutions.
