This fund is established in memory of Dr. Walter Trudeau to further the education mission of the Division of Gastroenterology. Dr. Walter Trudeau, MD, was a distinguished physician, researcher, and mentor whose legacy at UC Davis spanned over three decades and helped shape the institution’s Division of Gastroenterology. Joining the newly established School of Medicine in 1978 as one of its founding faculty members, Dr. Trudeau became the cornerstone of the gastroenterology fellowship program, training nearly 100 fellows over 35 years with a unique blend of clinical rigor, warmth, and mentorship. He fostered a culture of collaboration through multidisciplinary conferences and established the Sacramento “Gut Club,” bringing together community gastroenterologists and former fellows to tackle challenging cases. Renowned for his diagnostic expertise and personal touches Dr. Trudeau’s commitment to education, collegiality, and patient care left an enduring mark on UC Davis and the broader medical community. This fund will ensure the continued legacy of Dr. Trudeau at UC Davis.
