Lupus is a devastating disease that affects predominantly women and disproportionately impacts ethnic/racial minorities. About 1.5 million people in the United States are estimated to have lupus. Diagnosis and care are often delayed, and treatment options are limited, causing chronic pain, disability, depression, and financial strain for patients and their families.

The UC Davis Lupus Clinical Care Program is dedicated to improving patient outcomes through timely collaborative care, and access to novel clinical trials. Despite our efforts, a gap in awareness of the disease among patients, community members and healthcare workforce, frequently delays care. In addition, patients encounter multiple barriers like childcare needs, lack of transportation, and limited access to educational resources to effectively engage with the healthcare system.

Your donation TODAY can make a POWERFUL impact! By contributing, you can help provide these vital resources to support patients and their families in taking control of their disease and overcoming logistical challenges. Most importantly, each gift sends a message of solidarity and support – something our lupus patients deeply value!

Your generous donations today provide general program support, including our current goals:

  1. Patient resources—e.g., transportation, childcare needs, short-term medication/copay assistance, or meals to help keep patients connected with their care teams.
  2. Build a Lupus Support Group program for outreach including patient and family education and build community resources.
  3. Enhance lupus awareness of healthcare workforce, trainees and the broader community.

TO MAKE A GIFT BY MAIL, please make a check payable to UC Davis Foundation and mail it to UC Davis Health Sciences Development & Alumni Relations PO Box 160186, Sacramento, CA 95816. In the check memo line, please indicate the Lupus Program Support Fund.
