John Steelman Memorial Fund

Established in memory of John Steelman, this fund supports neuroscience nurses pursuing further education and training. John left a lasting mark at UC Davis Medical Center during his 33-year career, most notably in the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit, where he worked until his retirement in 2022. John mentored countless new nurses, leading by example to teach clinical skills, professionalism, compassion, and resilience. Tragically, John’s life was cut short in July 2025.

Through this fund, his legacy of mentorship, education, and excellence in neuroscience nursing will continue to inspire other neuroscience nurses for years to come.
