Hydrocephalus and Brain Fluid Research Fund

Gifts to the Hydrocephalus and Brain Fluid Research Fund support research to develop novel treatments for hydrocephalus and related disorders of brain fluid composition. There is currently no way to prevent or cure hydrocephalus, which affects both adults and children. Our research combines a bioengineering approach with gene therapy to reduce the amount of brain fluid in the brain, and we are also studying the biological effects of brain fluid composition on cognition. We hope that this work will lead to new treatments and improve the lives of patients facing brain fluid disorders and their families.
