Behavioral Health for Underserved Populations Program Endowment

There is a rising need for behavioral health for underserved populations that are discriminated against because of their lifestyle or disability, and for whom appropriate specialized psychiatric services are not readily available in the Sacramento area. (Examples include members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ+) community and persons who are recently incarcerated, HIV positive, sex workers, victims of sex trafficking, and homeless veterans with traumatic brain injury or post-traumatic stress disorder.) Gifts to the Behavioral Health for Underserved Populations Program Endowment will support programs that help increase the understanding of the unique behavioral health context and complexities impacting these groups within the medical profession and general public.
