The Ifeanyi Onyeji, MD Memorial Urologic Surgery Resident Education Fund supports the resident education program in the Department of Urologic Surgery. Initiatives include, but are not limited to, supporting resident education to attend conferences, funding educational programs and resident wellness activities, and supporting educational technology and resources. This fund is currently building toward an endowment, and if it does not reach the endowment level of $50,000, it will be used as a current use fund to support the immediate needs of our students.
Dr. Onyeji was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and grew up in North Carolina. He attended Stanford University and then Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He was a senior resident in his fifth year in Urologic Surgery training. Dr. Onyeji had a passion for education; both providing knowledge and learning from others. He is best known for his warm, compassionate demeanor, which he always shared with patients and coworkers. His beautiful smile is a hallmark of the person we will always remember.
