Built on the foundation of educational equity and opportunity, the AB540 and Undocumented Student Center at UC Davis strives to empower undocumented students, their families and members of the community in being informed leaders and active participants in our communities. The Center strives to educate and build awareness of changing policies affecting California's undocumented population. We acknowledge that immigration status is one aspect of an individual’s identity that does not solely define a person or their capacity. We promote a holistic approach to recruitment and retention of students in higher education, taking into account a student’s mental, emotional, and financial well-being.

How your support helps the AB540 and Undocumented Student Center make a different for AB540 and undocumented undergraduate and graduate/professional undocumented students at UC Davis:
“I am currently in a group called NAMLA, the National Association for Landscape Architects and it's giving me the chance to expose my field and my major to more minorities because I think we all deserve a chance to explore these types of careers.”
“I’m currently a member of the SVCC program and I am working in the Language and Literacy Development Lab, where we study the social and emotional development of children. These funds would help me dedicate more time to my internship and community.”
“I am a fellow at the UC Davis Student Farm where I work with the Student Farmers in maintaining the garden space and finding ways to be more sustainable. I am also a part of the social club Hermanas Unidas where our main goal is community service across Davis and Sacramento. These funds will allow me to relieve some of my stress of working enough hours to pay my rent and utilities. Thus, I will have more time to allocate towards engaging with the Davis community.”
“As I complete my 4th year of medical school and continue to work in the hospital setting during rotations, I have been working with underserved members of our community! These funds will help support me financially so I can focus my efforts on giving back to my community as well as progress in my career and help offset the costs of two large financial transactions for Step 2 and for residency applications.”
