UC Center Sacramento (UCCS) is an education and research dissemination program of the University of California. The Center hosts approximately 150 UC undergraduate students each year who come to Sacramento to undertake academic coursework and participate in internships in and around the Capitol.
Student enrollment at UCCS has grown steadily over the past five years, but internal surveys of UC students suggest that some are still dissuaded from participating in the program due to costs. While tuition and living expenses are a covered expense for students receiving financial aid, many prospective students find that the additional costs of housing, transportation, business clothing, networking meetings, and research project-related expenses in Sacramento are prohibitive.
In response to the needs of our students, the Center has established a UCCS Student Scholarship Fund. Our goal is to raise funds to reach endowment level (currently at $50,000) so that the fund and support of our students are sustainable in perpetuity. Until that milestone is reached, a portion of the gifts will be granted to support our current students.
