Before farmers markets and farm-to-table cuisine became part of everyday American culture, a movement toward sustainable, ethical and locally-sourced food practices grew out of Northern California and the Central Valley. Gifts to the Northern California Food Movement Fund support research, teaching and learning about this rich and complex chapter in California’s social, cultural and agricultural history.
With your support, we will preserve the legacy of the visionary chefs, farmers, scientists and community activists who shaped the culinary and agricultural landscape of Northern California, and planted the seeds of a Northern California food movement that continues to define how and what we eat today.
