California Thoroughbred Foundation Rowan Research Fellowship

The Louis R. Rowan Fellowship, funded by the California Thoroughbred Foundation with financial assistance from the Oak Tree Racing Association, was established in memory of one of the California Thoroughbred Foundation’s founders, Louis R. Rowan. In addition to being a noted racehorse owner and breeder, Rowan was active in many areas that benefitted people and horses in the Thoroughbred world. The purpose of the fellowship is to provide an annual award to two graduate students pursuing a Ph.D. in equine studies.
