What We Do

The One Health Institute is active across the globe, navigating the relationships between animals, people, and the environment in order to solve issues of health and conservation. The home of the Karen C. Drayer Wildlife Health Center, the Institute grew out of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine’s deep commitment to the One Health approach: recognizing that the health of domestic animals, wildlife, and people are inextricably linked with each other and the environment.

Led by Executive Director, Dr. Michael Ziccardi, DVM, MPVM, PhD, and staffed by a team of scientists and educators, the One Health Institute provides innovation and leadership to UC Davis, the UC system, state and federal agencies, and to our international partners. How You Can Help

Your support of the activities of the One Health Institute ensures that our team of professionals can continue to solve the complex problems that form at the nexus of animals and humans. The organization strives to provide more support for current programs while finding new projects and areas of research to develop and pursue. Your donation allows us to continue our work, helping animals and humans balance our relationship with each other and the environment.
