With nearly 100 billion neurons and 100 trillion connections, the human brain is one of the most complex systems in the known universe. And when disease, injury, or aging strike, the impacts can be devastating, and the treatments scarce or ineffective.

Neurological impairment affects billions of patients, caregivers, and their families worldwide, resulting in human suffering and economic drain. We need bold innovation to match the magnitude of such challenges, and we need to train students into tomorrow’s neuroengineers and innovators to continue tackling these great challenges.

Your gift to the UC Davis Center for Neuroengineering & Medicine will provide resources for students as they pursue interdisciplinary training and education, spanning engineering, neuroscience, medicine, computer science, and other topics. Training includes working on research projects, presenting their work at scientific conferences, and outreach to youth to seed interest in STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math and medicine).
