Mental illnesses are among the most common health concern in the U.S., with one in every five Americans experiencing a mental health condition each year. While treatment have come a long way over the past 50 years, there is still so much we don't know about the brain, its connections to the mind and how and why things can go awry in the brain to cause mental illness. Gifts to the Mental Health Research Innovation Fund supports research and discoveries related to the underlying causes of mental health conditions, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia, to accelerate the identification of new targets and treatments for mental wellness.
