The UC Davis–Kenya Global Health Impact Fund advances chronic disease care in underserved communities through screenings, provider training, research, and global learning partnerships that improve health outcomes and build sustainable care models.
The UC Davis–Kenya Global Health Impact Fund supports multidisciplinary teams from the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis, UC Davis Health, and UC Davis Global Affairs partnering with Kenyan clinicians and universities to strengthen chronic disease care in underserved communities. Through medical camps, comprehensive screenings, and hands-on training, teams address rising rates of diabetes, heart disease, cancer and anemia—while equipping local providers with sustainable, team-based care models.
In collaboration with the University of Nairobi and Health Education Africa Resource Team (HEART), the initiative advances interprofessional education, simulation training, and nurse practitioner leadership to expand access to high-quality care across rural and urban Kenya.
Gifts to this fund will: - Deliver lifesaving screenings and treatment in low-resource communities - Train and empower Kenyan health professionals through team-based models - Support global experiential learning for UC Davis faculty and students - Build sustainable partnerships that improve health outcomes for women, children, and families
Your investment advances a “One Health” vision—improving lives locally and globally while preparing the next generation of health leaders to serve where they are needed most.
